Dr. Hans-Friedrich Loth and his impetus to German and European case law

During his almost 30 years of consultative and legal services provided for national and international clients, Dr. Hans-Friedrich Loth frequently had the opportunity to give new impetus to case law regarding the further development in the field of intellectual property rights protection. In respect of the following range of judgments given by the Federal Constitutional Court and the Federal Court of Justice in connection with patent and utility model law, registered design law and competition law, Dr. Hans-Friedrich Loth represented the respective client at all instances in the majority of cases. The following survey shows only the court decisions which were published in professional journals. The number of cases which were represented by Dr. Hans-Friedrich Loth before the Federal Court of Justice in connection with patent and utility model law, registered design law and competition law starting with a representation at the first instance and which have not been published in professional journals, exceeds the number of cases shown below many times over. Although the number of court related cases (infringement proceedings, opposition proceedings and nullity proceedings) have never been counted, it can truly be said without any exaggeration that Dr. Hans-Friedrich Loth represented his clients in much more than 1000 cases in all court instances.

Among these litigations, Dr. Hans-Friedrich Loth also successfully conducted and coordinated a number of multi-jurisdictional infringement proceedings, e.g. 50 to 70 proceedings in the field of pregnancy test devices, ink cartridges as after sales products suitable for printers etc.
